Diploma Program Overview
This Diploma program is designed to equip students with the essential competencies and knowledge needed to excel in various roles within the Rooms Division department, adhering to the standards of a first-class hotel operation.
Graduates will be prepared to work independently in front-office or housekeeping operations and will possess the skills to advance to supervisory positions in a short timeframe. The curriculum is aligned with the Swiss Vocational Competency Framework, ensuring industry-relevant and high-quality training.
Upon completion, students will be well-equipped to enter the hospitality industry with the confidence and expertise to succeed in their careers.

Program Objectives
Graduates of the Rooms Professional Diploma will demonstrate proficiency in the following activities and exhibit the following professional behaviors:
a) Guest Relations and Hospitality: As hosts, they will welcome guests in accordance with the establishment's guidelines, ensuring a positive and memorable customer experience.
b) Customer-Centric Approach: Through their interpersonal skills, they will create a welcoming atmosphere, prioritize guest well-being, identify specific needs, and take appropriate actions to ensure satisfaction.
c) Operational Excellence: They will understand the importance of cleanliness, maintenance, laundry operations, and organizational tasks, including logistics for all back-of-house activities.
d) Technical Proficiency: They will effectively use property management systems to handle reservations, check-ins, check-outs, billing, and revenue collection.
e) Hygiene, Safety, and Sustainability: They will adhere to hygiene and occupational safety standards, maintain the condition of premises and equipment, and promote the economical use of energy and resources.
Graduates will be well-prepared to deliver exceptional service, manage operational tasks efficiently, and contribute to the success of a first-class hotel environment.
CERTIFICATES
Participants will earn 3-levels of certification over the 18-months duration of this programme leading to Swiss International Rooms Professional Diploma.
Foundation – In this first certificate, students will acquire the basic skills required to be operational in a restaurant. The skills learned will be reinforced and applied during the On-the-Job experience.
Intermediate – After having acquired the skills to operate independently in a restaurant, students will acquire the competencies to work in different restaurant settings. The skills learned will be reinforced and applied during the On-the-Job experience.
Advanced – Following 1-year of studies or combined with previous professional experience, students will focus on restaurant management skills. To complete the program, the skills learned will be reinforced and applied during the On-the-Job experience.
